Early in 2020 we were awarded the supply & fit subcontract for the suspended ceilings, feature ceiling, partitions, shaftwall & fire curtains on this project, little did we know the challenges that would arise between award and commencing on site in the summer. After the world being turned upside down with the COVID pandemic we got our heads down and worked hard to form our new processes and plans for how we would manage to work during the pandemic to safely and efficiently deliver this project, with maximum continuity. Before we started on site we realised more of the suspended ceilings were going to need replaced than had originally been allowed for, so we worked closely with the main contractor, suppliers and one of the manufacturers to come up with the best value engineering specification we could come up with to help the client getting the most mileage for their money. We closely managed the changes on the project ensuring everything went through the change control process and any savings could be presented back up the line to the client and vice versa where additional work was required. All of the works carried out here were in line with the design teams specification and the manufacturers instructions, making sure we hit all of the holdpoints on the programme and completed our work package in time for the contract handover date.
